Blackoutly with Microsoft Intune — quick start

Before you start: Blackoutly-<version>-x64.intunewin, Blackoutly.admx + en-US\Blackoutly.adml, the license
key BLK1.…; computers: Windows 10 1809+ / 11, x64; network: HTTPS directly to console.blackoutly.com:443
(activation once, check-in weekly; no proxy).
1. App — Apps → Windows → Create → Windows app (Win32)

2. Template — Devices → Configuration → Import ADMX (once)
ADMX Blackoutly.admx, ADML en-US\Blackoutly.adml → wait for Available.
3. Profile — Devices → Configuration → Create → Windows 10 and later → Templates → Imported Administrative templates
Computer Configuration → Blackoutly → General → License key → Enabled → paste BLK1.…
(optional: User interface language, Where to save redacted files, Audit log folder, categories…)
→ Assignment: the same device group.
Registry: HKLM\Software\Policies\Blackoutly. Pro and Enterprise keys → separate profiles for separate groups.
4. Activation
Automatic at each computer's first start (at most as many computers as the key is for); then offline, with a weekly
check-in. No internet? Intune → Devices → Windows → Export (serial numbers) → Blackoutly Console /my →
Activate without internet → put the file at C:\ProgramData\Blackoutly\activations.txt (e.g. a platform script).
Replaced computer? Blackoutly Console /my → Remove activation.
5. Update and check
New version = new Win32 app + Supersedence on the previous one (Uninstall previous version: No).
Check: reg query HKLM\Software\Policies\Blackoutly · Settings → License in the program ·
Blackoutly.exe --self-test → %TEMP%\Blackoutly-selftest.txt ends with RESULT: OK.
Logs: %ProgramData%\Blackoutly-install.log, C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\IntuneManagementExtension\Logs\IntuneManagementExtension.log.
